Juhi Chawla files plea against implementation of 5G over radiation concerns

NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress and environmentalist Juhi Chawla has filed a lawsuit against the implementation of 5G network in India because of the radiation impact it can have on the environment.

Chawla said she is not against technology and uses it herself. However, if the 5G network is implemented in the country, the human beings and other living organisms will be exposed to the levels of RF radiation that are 10x to 100x times greater than what exists now, she said.

She added that these 5G plans threaten to provoke serious, irreparable effects on humans and can cause permanent damage to the ecosystem, she said.

The suit asked for a direction to the authorities to certify to the public at large, that 5G technology is safe to human beings and every type of living organism and flora and fauna.

The hearing has been transferred to another bench on June by Justice C Hari Shankar.
