Assam: Kamrup all set for mega COVID-19 vaccination drive on Sept 17

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup district is all set for the state-wide mega vaccination drive scheduled for September 17, 2021, to further intensify COVID-19 vaccination in the state of Assam.

The District Health Department, in collaboration with the District Administration, has already established vaccination centers for the drive.

It should be noted that on that day, total of lakh vaccines were targeted across the state.

target of 25,000 vaccines has been set for the Kamrup district in order to achieve this goal. 

However, the district health department has planned to vaccinate 40,000 people, and more than 200 vaccination centers have already been established in the district to meet this goal.

 

The schools of the area under Block Primary Health Centres are utilized for vaccination centers.

Vaccination will be prioritised in char areas within the district.

As a result, 5,000 vaccines are expected to be distributed in the Hajo Char area.

Similarly, special precautions have been taken to ensure that vaccine is available in the Char area of Chhagaon.

A mobile vaccination team, on the other hand, is being prepared for the purpose by Azara Block Primary Health Centre.

The second dose of Covaxin and both doses of Covishield will be available for the eligible persons on that day.

Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Kailash Karthik N urges all to work diligently in coordination with all concerned officials to carry out this mission of Mega COVID-19 Vaccination Drive smoothly and successfully.
