Kejriwal announces Sonu Sood as 'Desh Ke Mentor' ambassador, Actor says 'nothing political'

NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor and 'messiah' Sonu Sood has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Delhi government’s ‘Desh Ke Mentor’ program by Chief Minister . Speaking in Press Conference, the actor addressed, "Today, I have been given an opportunity to mentor lakhs of students. There is no greater service than guiding students. I am sure together we can & we will.”

According to reports, Sonu Sood, in the press conference, denied of joining Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) when asked.

The actor said that the Delhi Chief Minister had invited him for the launch of the project to mentor students. Nothing political was discussed with him.

Further, he said the reports highlighted in a section of the media on his political ambitions were “false and baseless”.

Also at the press conference, Sood added, “There is nothing political. People have always told me to get into politics and one has to be blessed to join politics. But as of now we haven't discussed anything political. I have been getting constant offers but I have never really thought about it and that's why I haven't discussed that.”

Reportedly, he said: “My family and I have no interest in politics. We are not joining any political party.”

Soon to be the brand ambassador tweeted, “Truly honoured and humbled to be the brand ambassador of Desh Ke Mentor a programme which has given me an opportunity to mentor lakhs of students across India.

Arvind Kejriwal took to twitter stating, “मानवता की सेवा में @SonuSood जी के योगदान को हम सबने देखा और सराहा है अब सोनू जी दिल्ली के सरकारी स्कूलों में बच्चों के लिए बनाए गए 'देश के मेंटर' प्रोग्राम के ब्रांड एंबेसडर होंगे। सोनू जी का इस कार्यक्रम के साथ जुड़ना निश्चित ही बच्चों के उज्ज्वल भविष्य में मददगार साबित होगा"
