Khalsa Centre Northeast Lauded for Serving 'Guru ka Langar' for 25 Weeks Straight at B Barooah Cancer Institude

Guwahati, 31st July 2019:

Assamese and Sikhs follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji and Srimanta Shankar Dev , which are very similar in practice and ideology, thus making both Assamese and Sikhs brothers, stated Dr. SriSri Pitambar Dev Goswamim, the Satradhikar of SriSri Auniati Satra here yesterday, while also lauding the Khalsa Centre Northeast organization for its generous act.

Dr. SriSri Pitambar Dev Goswami jee made this statement while addressing the gathering at a solemn function organised to mark 25 continuous weeks of serving Guru Nanak’s Langar at Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute after being ceremoniously welcomed by Nagendra Singh priest of Biru Bari Gurduwara with a Siropa stated that the services rendered by team members of Khalsa Centre North East are commendable and giving food to the needy is the best service.

Satradhikar of Auniati Satra while expressing his desire to visit Golden Temple, asked the team members to take him along to visit the sacred place where he said lakhs of people also enjoy 'Guru Ka Langar'.

Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami called upon the people from all communities to join this humanitarian service and serve “Nar Narayan”.

Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami jee speaking about cancer stated that people should avoid such food which spreads Cancer.

Dr Amal Chandra Kataki, MD Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute while welcoming the religious Guru of Uniati Satra, praised the services rendered by Khalsa Centre North East for the last 25 weeks by serving healthy and clean food. He also welcomed Dr Pitambar Dev Goswami with a traditional Gamusa.

Capt PP Singh Chairman Khalsa Centre North East while welcoming Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami jee stated that it is due to long religious discourse between Guru Nanak Dev jee and Srimanta Shankar Dev ji during his visit to Assam in 16th Century that not only the ideology but even some of the terms used in their day today religious practices are also same thus bringing two faiths closer.

Capt Singh said it was natural that when we are celebrating 550 birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev jee, some one of Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami jee’s stature should have been invited and the entire team of Khalsa Centre North East was feeling blessed to have Guru jee amidst them.

Later Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami jee along with Khalsa Centre North East members distributed fruits and Langar to patients staff and attendants and also distributed fruits which he had brought for them.

Others who attended the function included Surindra Aggarwal, Narinder Singh, Ram Singh, Rajinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Amritpal Singh, Bishal Singh, Shanti kaur, Rani Kaur, Bhinder Kaur, S Kulvinder Singh Pradhan Beltola Gurduwara Committee, S Balbir Singh former President, Balwinder Singh, Satnam Singh, Balwinder Singh, Naib Singh, Seema Kaur, Shiv Shankar, Harsimran Singh etc.
