NEW DELHI: Union minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju has slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for making reckless statements to discredit the world's #LargestVaccinationDrive.

The process of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country has once again slowed down to some extent.

Over 90 lakh vaccination doses were given out in single day across the country on International Yoga Day

However, the one-day record has not even come close to achieving it.

More than 50 lakh vaccinations were definitely given for few days, but between 20 and 40 lakh vaccinations have stopped over the previous three-four days.

Rahul Gandhi, today took to Twitter and wrote, "July has come, the vaccine has not arrived."

Just after his tweet, minister Kiren Rijiju's reaction emerged. Replying to Gandhi's statement in his tweet, Rijiju wrote,"Very sad to see such irresponsible statements to discredit the

#LargestVaccineDrive

class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> After Govt of India provided 75% of vaccines available for free, vaccination speed picked up & 11.50 cr doses were given in June. Pls, don't play politics in the midst of a deadly pandemic."

Besides, minister Kiren Rijiju, central minister Harsh Vardhan also replied to Rahul Gandhi's tweet and wrote,"Just yesterday, I put out facts on vaccine availability for the month of July. What is

">@RahulGandhi Ji’s problem? Does he not read? Does he not understand? There is no vaccine for the virus of arrogance and ignorance.

">@INCIndia
must think of a leadership overhaul."

It needs to mention that, significantly, Rahul Gandhi has been constantly raising questions on the central government's vaccination policy.

On behalf of Rahul Gandhi, it has been suggested that the central government vaccinate large numbers of people as soon as possible so that more people receive the vaccine and are protected in a shorter period of time.

Moreover, it also needs to mention that the central government previously stated that the rate of vaccination would increase starting in July, despite the fact that only one day of July has passed.

According to reports, a total of about 12 crore vaccines will be given to the states by the Center in the month of July.

In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court that between August and December, more than 135 crore vaccines would be available with it.
