BOKO: All Rabha Students' Union (ARSU) and five other Rabha organizations today staged a protest demanding justice for the alleged rape and murder cases in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts.

It is to be mentioned that two young sisters were allegedly raped and hanged on a tree on June 11 last.

The Assam police yesterday arrested three culprits for the rape and murder of two minor tribal girls and hanging their bodies on a tree after killing the duo in Assam’s Kokrajhar district. Four more were arrested for trying “to destroy evidence and mislead the investigators.”

Rabha organizations have reacted to the incident and demonstrated protests along the NH-17 by maintaining COVID protocol.

ARSU's Kamrup district president Ajit Rabha said that they want immediate justice through fast track court and demanded that all culprits be hanged.

He also added that the Rabha organizations requested the CM Himanta Biswa Sharma to give financial aid to the victim's family.

Meanwhile, Rabha organizations have submitted a memorandum to the Boko Revenue Circle Officer for the Chief Minister of Assam.

Namal Kumar Rabha, Secretary of ARSU Kamrup district said that Rabha organizations have also requested the Assam Police to investigate the alleged rape and murder of a mother and her daughter in Sapai Baligaon village under Dhekiajuli Police station in Sontipur district and punish the culprits.
