The Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad is spread over 63 acres, with a seat capacity of 1.1 lakh people.

Union minister for youth affairs and sports Kiren Rijiju said the newly-built stadium is not just the largest, but it is also one of the best stadiums in the world.

In the third Test, however, Motera will host a 55,000 capacity crowd, because of COVID-19 restrictions.

President Kovind is expected to watch the third Test between India and England for some time along with Shah after the inaugural ceremony.
