DHUBRI: Dhubri Revenue Circle Office has been filled with touts for a long time but the office premises have been seen touts free in the early hours of this morning.
It may be noted that Lat Mandal’s in the office of the Revenue Circle were absconding, and after 12 noon today, the office premises was seen vacant.
Many Lat Mandal’s, employees as well as many brokers are absconding due to the fear of arrest.
Meanwhile, many land broker’s including Lat Mandal, Abul Hussain of Dhubri circle office were arrested and sent to jail yesterday following the order of State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in view of the illegal land trading in the state.
It is pertinent to mention that over 500 people have been arrested by the state police yesterday for allegedly being involved in illegal land broking activities in Assam.
While over 450 were arrested in overnight operations, the rest 70 were apprehended during the day.
