Guwahati, February 13, 2020:

Ready or not, Local Utpaat is all set to bring you the local flavor with the combo of Local Kung Fu and Heavy Budget this year.

Local Kung Fu and Heavy Budget are back with a new feature film Local Utpaat, which will be releasing on September 4. Kenny Deori Basumatary, the mind behind the film's concept, talking to Inside Northeast, says, "This film is a full-on comedy film deriving elements from the earlier Local Kung Fu films as well as our popular 'Heavy Budget' YouTube channel. I personally feel that people should come to watch the film with their friends and they should laugh so hard hard that they will need a pill cure the ache. It is a bi-lingual film -- it will be available in both Hindi and Assamese versions. The Assamese version is being readied for a release on September 4. "

Local Utpaat has Bonny Deori, who gained fame from Bonzo, the Number 1 Under-18 Don from Local Kung Fu (Part 1) and Poonam Gurung as the lead pair. Poonam was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Prag Cine Awards for her outstanding work in Suspended Inspector Boro.

Kenny has promised that the film is an out-and-out comedy that one can watch repeatedly with friends and family. However, there is something that the team is looking for.

The teaser of Local Utpaat was released on February 11. In order to meet the expenses for the film’s post-production and release, the team is running a crowdfunding campaign on wishberry.in. So far, over 400 people have contributed a total of approximately 4.3 lakh rupees. If the target amount of Rs 10 lakh is not reached, all the money will be returned to the contributors.

The team had previously successfully crowdfunded Rs 8.9 lakh on wishberry.in for Local Kung Fu 2, which was doing very well in theatres until Bahubali 2 came and took away all the shows.
