A complaint in this regard has been filed at Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. The Jaunpur district hudge has issued the notice on the review petition filed by plaintiff Hansraj Choudhary, alleging that the film Thugs of Hindustan had given false information about the Mallah community. He said that the Mallah community is referred to as Firangi and Thug.

Aamir Khan is addressed as Firangi Mallah in the film.

The development comes ahead of Aamir Khan’s next release Laal Singh Chaddha, expected to release in December 2021. He shares the screen with Kareena Kapoor in the film.
