Yesterday, in reply to a letter by N.K. Mao, Executive Director (Commercial) of NEEPCO regarding withdrawals of load shedding, the MeECL’s Chairman and Managing Director Arunkumar Kembhavi said that the request for withdrawal of regulation of power supply was not found acceptable in the absence of a specific payment plan.

Acording to Kembhavi, the Payment of Rs. 325.98 crore has been made in two months despite a huge loan liability and interest outgo on MeECL and the appropriate authority is doing whatever it can to clear the amount due and payable.

Thus, the Meghalaya load shedding will be removed in the areas affected from 2 pm onwards.

It may be mention that Rs 325 crore which the state government availed under the Atmanirbhar scheme has been cleared to NEEPCO which is the highest-paid to any firm.
