AIZAWL: Mizoram's government has extended lockdown in Mizoram for 7 days, starting from July 18 till midnight of July 24. The municipal area will be under total lockdown as the rising Covid-19 cases remain unabated in the state.

For Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas, total lockdown shall be imposed in AMC area with and movement of people during this period, including the casual visit of neighbours/families residing in the same building, has been strictly prohibited.

During this period, the state government offices except for few necessary department/offices, private owned company/office - consultancy services, educational institutes, religious places, Public park, Picnic spot, Gym/ Spa, Courier service, e-commerce and home delivery services, including intra and extra Mizoram business establishments capable of delivering goods on online orders.

Birthday celebrations, anniversary, outdoor/leisure activities- picnic, outings, trekking, hiking, adventure sports, etc.

Petrol/diesel filling station, LPG distribution/storehouse, fair price shop and FCS&CA department/FCI godowns, dairy collection and distribution, newspaper distribution, animal disease control programme, veterinary hospital, dispensary, clinic, zoo, hatchery, feed mill, and slaughterhouse, print and electronic media, telecommunication, internet service, broadcasting and cable service, pharmacy/drug stores.

For weddings, the permission of the district commissioner needs to be obtained. Up to 30 persons with the condition that no refreshments are prepared and served.

In other areas of Mizoram, the Deputy Commissioners shall make restrictions/ regulations depending upon the local COVID-19 outbreak situation and assessment made by them.

All persons entering Mizoram from other parts of the country shall mandatorily undergo screening at their point of entry to Mizoram, and Rapid Antigen Test (RAgT) will be used depending upon the need.

Prior registration on mPASS-flight or mPASS-road in mCOVID-19 mobile application must be done before arrival to enable proper arrangements for screening, testing, and quarantine.

RAgT positive persons shall be attended to as per the protocols in place. This provision shall also apply to residents of Mizoram travelling outside Mizoram and returning to the State. Home quarantine and Hotel quarantine can be applied online at mcovid19.mizoram.gov.in.
