Guwahati, July 31, 2019:

The record earned by Manohari Gold tea from Assam’s Dibrugarh district, which sold for a whopping Rs 50,000 per kilogram, stood for barely a day as it was broken after Golden Tips  tea from Maijan Tea Estate of The Assam Company Ltd sold at a new record price of Rs 70,501 per kg in sale no 31 at GTAC. at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC).

This tea was purchased by Mundhra Tea Company of Guwahati. It is to be mentioned that only two kilos of the premium tea was manufactured by the Maijan tea estate.

Assam, already world-famous, for its tea, is proving it again and again that it still has the potential to manufacture the finest of teas.
