Man Tied Up and Beaten by Mob in West Karbi Anglong, Video Goes Viral

A video has gone viral in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. In the video, a man can be seen tied up and being beaten mercilessly by an irate mob. This video has gone on to create sensation across the district, and especially in Kheroni.

As per reports, the incident occurred at Mailoo in West Karbi Anglong. In the video that has been circulating online, the person can be seen tied up, and he is seemingly having an argument with a gang that has surrounded him. The mob then proceeds to rain blows on the helpless man. The man was allegedly beaten due to an argument over money.

It may be mentioned that mob lynching is on the rise in Assam. In the deadliest such incident, a mob of about 250 people attacked two men from Guwahati, Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das, under suspicion of child trafficking and beat the two to death in a case of mistaken identity.

The incident took place in the backdrop of widespread public rumours over rising child trafficking and the spate of killings known as the 'Indian WhatsApp lynchings.'
