Manipur: 2 more corona cases, state tally rises to 41

2 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur, the total number now is 41.


Both the 2 infected people had travel history. The 22-year-old male and 23-year-old male both of Thoubal district had recently returned from Bengaluru and Gujarat.

Meanwhile, CM Biren Singh discussed with different tribal communities regarding the pandemic. “The key intent behind holding the discussion today with leaders of different tribal communities of the State is to hear the grievances of our hill brethren in the aftermath of spread of corona and formulate a strategy to impart the right awareness at the grassroots level”, said N Biren Singh,

India cases so far

The novel coronavirus has infected over 1.51 lakh people and claimed over 4,000 lives as on May 27, 2020, morning, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There are 83,004 active cases with 64,426 cases discharged and cured.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 54758 corona cases with 16954 cured and 1792 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 14821 cases with 7139 cured and 915 deaths. Tamil Nadu has registered 17728 cases with 9342 cured and 127 deaths. The National Capital with 14465 COVID-19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on May 25th, 2020. So far, 7223 have been cured in Delhi with 288 deaths.

India has surpassed China’s official figure of 82,993 confirmed coronavirus cases. India is the 10th most cases in the world. So far, the USA has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 1.7 m.
