Manipur: Corona cases rise to 86 as state detects another COVID-19 patient

A woman has been tested positive for the COVID-19 in Manipur on June 2^nd, 2020 taking the state’s total to 86.

The infected patient hails from Imphal East district in the state.

Of the 86 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 72 are active and 14 have been cured or discharged so far in the state.

On May 28^th, 2020, Manipur registered 11 (9 males, 2 females) COVID-19 cases. The cases were detected at TRDLs of RIMS (7) and JNIMS (4).

Manipur and Northeast

Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases followed by Tripura.

As of 2nd June, India has reached 1,99,000+ in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 97581 active cases with 95526 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 5598.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 70013 corona cases with 30108 cured, 2362 deaths and 37543 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 20834 cases with 8746 cured, 523 deaths, and 11565 active cases. Tamil Nadu has crossed 23495 cases with 13170 cured, 184 deaths 10141 active cases. Gujarat with 17200 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 10780 have been cured, 1063 deaths, and 5357 active cases.

India has surpassed China’s official figure of 82,933 confirmed coronavirus cases. India now has 7^{th in} most cases in the world and has surpassed Germany. So far, the USA has the highest number of covid19 cases at 1,837,170 cases

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 6,370,763 cases, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus’ spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.
