IMPHAL: After the cancellation of Class 10 and 12 examinations in view of the COVID-19 surge, the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur(CoHSEM) and Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) has announced the assessment or evaluation criteria for students recently.

For the evaluation of Class 10 students, out of 100 marks, 20 will be given from internal assessment, 30 marks from Class 9 results and 50 will be given considering the performance of the students in pre-board exams.

And for Class 12 students, out of 100 marks, 30 marks will be given from the Class 10 record( best of three), 20 will be given on the basis of Class 11 results, and 50 marks will be offered on Class 12 pre boars, tests, etc.

As reported, the decision on evaluation criteria was announced after a meeting attended by Commissioner of Education M. Harekrishna, Manipur Education Minister, Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh Director of Education-Schools L. Nandakumar Singh, and other CoHSEM and BoSEM officials.

Students unsatisfied with the result can reach concerned officials so they could appear for the special exams conducted by boards once the COVID-19 situation gets in control.

The state education minister also assured to release the results on or before July 31, the deadline set by the Supreme Court of India.

The Manipur Government announced the cancellation of Class 10 and 12 exams on June 15 last in an ordered undersigned by Biren Singh, Secretary of COHSEM.

The Higher Secondary and the Class XI Examinations were scheduled to commence from May 8.
