Manipur: Five drug peddlers arrested in Thoubal district

Five drug peddlers were apprehended along with drugs in a joint operation by the Tulihal battalion of Assam Rifles, Thoubal Commandos and ANJUMAN, a local anti-drug organisation, at Lilong Haorebi Turel Ahanbi in Thoubal district.

The seized contraband items included 93 WY tablets, hundred N10 tablets, 3,800 SP capsules, one bottle of codonz syrup and 15 grams of heroin. The value of the seized contraband was assessed to be around Rs.1,38,650. Two stolen scooters, 19 mobile phones and Rs.21,626 were also seized.

In another combined operation, an individual was apprehended from Lilong Haorebi Turel Ahanbi in Thoubal district and one 9 mm pistol along with magazine was recovered from him. On interrogation, the accused revealed that he was involved in the procurement and sale of illegal arms. The accused persons were later handed over to the police and a case registered.
