Apart from stripping off the Chief Minister’s Medal for Gallantry, Manipur Government has suspended one Manipur Police Sub Inspector of Imphal east Commando for concealing the facts in connection with drug trafficking case pending against him.

Police Sub Inspector Bheishamayum Debson Singh was suspended after the All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) on Sunday pointed out that the SI had been arrested for trafficking of drug worth over Rs 3 crore in 2013 but was awarded CM’s medal for gallantry.

State Government lauded AMSU for bringing the matter to the notice of the government.
