Manipur Health Minister Kickstarts Campaign to Tackle Anxiety amid Coronavirus Lockdown

Imphal, April 18, 2020:

Amid the continuing lockdown across the country to curb the outbreak of the new coronavirus with thousands of lives at stake, the aspect of mental health is perhaps one issue that has not been discussed at length in recent times. Addressing this issue, the Health Minister of Manipur, L. Jayantakumar Singh, has undertaken a new initiative to enrich the people with psychological well-being and keep anxiety at bay amid the lockdown.

Terming mental health as a "major health concern" at the time of crisis, the Manipur leader has called upon the people to participate in the Yumda leisi+ Hakchang Phagathansi challenge.

People taking part in the Yumda leisi+ Hakchang Phagathansi challenge have to follow the guidelines set forth by the Manipur Health Minister.

In an official note, the Health Minister made a request to the people create a 1-minute long video performing any activity, ranging from yoga to dance or singing or any form of exercise.

Secondly, the netizens must upload the video of themselves performing the "relaxing activity" on social media platforms such as Facebook. The challenge is also to nominate

two more individuals and expand the network of staying healthy. To initiate the challenge, the Minister himself has performed Yoga and posted the video on social media platforms.
