Tuesday, February 24, 2020:

Pictures have emerged online that allegedly show Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isaak-Muivah) militants beating up a person belonging to the Kuki community in Kamjong district of Manipur.

According to our sources, a certain Seikhohao Haokip of Phaimol village was summoned from his home at around 3 pm by the NSCN (IM) based in Kamjong district to repair a Myanmarese Kenbobike. However, he was reportedly thrashed as soon as he reached the office on allegations of being affiliated to the insurgent group KLA.

The NSCN (IM) then took him to a hospital, but beat him again by claiming that he had denied being a militant, while Haokip repeatedly denied having any connection with the militant group. He was released only after he was thrashed black and blue by the NSCN (IM), it was claimed.

Later, the NSCN (IM) sent a directive to Haokip placing him under "house arrest" for security reasons. If he violates the command, serious action/penalty will be imposed on him, the NSCN(IM) "order" specified.
