IMPHAL: The lives of twelve more people in Manipur succumbed due to COVID-19, including seven women, bringing the total number of deaths in the state to 461 in the last 24 hours.

442 people tested positive, including two members of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), according to a state health department statement released on Saturday.

Currently, the total number of active cases is 3,851, whereas positive cases in the state stands at 34.775.

The deceased were from the districts of Kangpokpi, Ukhrul, Imphal East, Thoubal, and Imphal West, according to the statement.

The current recovery rate in Manipur is 87.6 per cent.

Imphal West (168), Imphal East (140), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (27), Kakching (32), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (15), Chandel (5), Senapati (3), Kangpokpi (1), Jiribam (4), Noney (12) and three each from Senapati and Tengnoupal are among the newly infected civilians.
