IMPHAL: Manipur hunk Songashim Rungsung was crowned Rubaru Mr. India-United Continents at the Rubaru Mr. India 2020-2021 pageant in Goa recently, a delayed report said today.
Besides Rungsung, two other Northeast contestants scripted history as Tseteej Shiwakoty of Sikkim bagged the Rubaru Mr. India Global 2020-2021 and Tumken Sora of Arunachal Pradesh was adjudged Rubaru Mr. India-Brand Ambassador 2020-2021.
The Rubaru Mr. India pageant is the country’s biggest annual men’s pageant.
Songashim was crowned among 34 contestants from across the country.
Songashim, 25, a native of Talui village in Manipur’s UKhrul district, won the coveted title at the pageant.
Songashim, a Tangkhul Naga, will now represent India at the Mr. United Continents competition, which will be held later this year.
Songashim also bagged the sub-title of ‘best national costume’ for proudly displaying his own Tangkhul Naga traditional attire at the pageant.
Songashim, a freelance model currently based in Bengaluru, began his career in the glamour world in 2018 when he competed in Mega Northeast for the first time.
