Meet Surajit Tripura, the Guwahati waiter winning hearts with his incredible dance moves

 

GUWAHATI: For 23-year-old Surajit Tripura, dancing has always felt "natural", "normal," and "effortless, he told Inside Northeast.

 

The Tripura native, who has earned fame while working as a waiter in Guwahati's 'Absolut Barbecue' by mesmerizing customers with dance moves, appears to be nonplussed by fame and only got to know about it from his friends. "I have some friends who came across my videos on social media; honestly speaking, I do not use much social media, so I do not know a lot about it. But yeah, it feels good to be recognized."

 

His incredible flexibility and natural popping and locking have made him a favourite of customers, and they have been happily sharing his videos on social media platforms.

 

Somewhat incredibly, this incredibly gifted dancer has never taken dance lessons in his life!

 

"Although I have never taken formal lessons, I have always believed in the power of dance. I have learnt a lot from watching dance tutorials on YouTube, Tripura revealed to Inside Northeast.

 

Tripura, whose videos have spread like wildfire on social media platforms, informed us that he left Tripura to eke out a living in Guwahati city, widely considered to be the gateway to Northeast India.

"I came to Guwahati after passing my 12th standard examinations; I am now working at the Absolut Barbecue. Sometimes, during social occasions and to fulfil customers' request, I will perform a dance," he told us.

 

Tripura, however, is not ruling out participating in dance shows. "Yes, if the opportunity presents itself, I would most certainly love to take part in a dance reality show. Maybe that will be the next phase of my journey," he told us with a grin.
