Meghalaya: 292 Armed forces personnel test COVID-19 positive to date

Meghalaya has detected 292 COVID-19 cases among the Armed forces personnel to date, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma stated.

The state has currently 588 active COVID-19 cases and 210 have recovered so far. The state has registered 5 deaths so far.

Assam has registered the highest active COVID-19 cases in Northeast followed by Tripura, Nagaland, and Manipur. However, the Northeast COVID-19 situation is far better than the rest of India.

India COVID-19 cases so far

India COVID-19 tally crossed 16 lakh mark with the highest single-day spike of 55,079 positive cases and 779 deaths in the last 24 hours.

India has recorded 16,38,870 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 35,747 deaths. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 64.5 percent. Globally, there have been over 1.72 crore confirmed cases of COVID-19. More than 6.69 lakh people have died so far.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 13 thousand deaths. It has recorded 1,48,454 active corona cases, 248615 cured and 14729 deaths. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has 10743 active corona cases, 119724 cured and 3936 deaths. Tamil Nadu has 57962 active cases, 3838 deaths. Gujarat with 13793 active COVID-19 cases, 44074 cured and 2418 deaths.
