Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a short video that Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma strumming a number by Iron Maiden, a heavy metal band, has won the hearts of netizens.

In the nearly 46-second video, shared on the Chief Minister's official Instagram account, the 42-year-old leader can be seen playing Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years". “After a hectic 3 day Assembly session… unwinding with some iron maiden stuff.. it’s been a long while I haven’t played so I guess a few mistakes…(sic),” reads his post.

The song from the album ‘Somewhere In Time’ was released by the London-based band in 1986.

The video shared last night has been viewed over 30,000 times while it earned him praise on Facebook and Twitter.

Meanwhile, Npp FansPage, while sharing the video on Facebook, writes, “CM Rocking it at home and so should everybody, it's time we start  our old hobbies again while in lockdown to chase away boredom..Stay home and Stay safe everyone.”

It may be mentioned that the longest ever lockdown enforced to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the country has triggered anxiety, boredom, frustration, and many more mental health related issues. But, the many adopted different ways to chase away boredom and turned it to interesting.

The nationwide lockdown was enforced on March 25 to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus initially for 21 days which was later extended. India is currently under the fourth phase of the lockdown with considerable relaxation.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya has registered 14 confirmed COVID-19 cases and one death so far. The state was declared ‘corona-free’ on May 19 after the 12th patient recovered. But, it lost the status in a day with a 33-yeard-old woman was tested positive for coronavirus in Garo Hills. It was the first case in Garo Hills.
