Meghalaya CM invites PM Modi to 50th Statehood Day Event in 2022

GUWAHATI: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi along with speaker Metbah Lyngdoh today to personally invite PM Modi to the state of Meghalaya for the state’s 50th Statehood Day on Jan 21, 2022.

Called on Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sh. @narendramodi ji to specially invite him to #Meghalaya for our state’s 50th Statehood Day on 21st Jan 2022. Had the privilege to apprise him on the upcoming State Assembly building & sought GoI’s support for funding. Thank him for his support,” CM Sangma tweeted.

Meghalaya was formed as a separate state from Assam in 1972. This meeting comes just days after clashes at the Shillong-Assam border, during which a Meghalaya police officer was injured.
