Taking stock of the situation arising in its neighbouring state of Assam, the Health and Family Welfare Department of Meghalaya has issued a notification.

On 7th May, a PG student from Guwahati Medical College and Hospital was found positive of Covid19 which had led to the quarantining of more than 350 health professionals of the hospital. Another incident is the death of the corona affected person with a trace in B Borooah Cancer Institute.

Following this, the state government has decided that any person who has visited the aforementioned hospitals in the last 14 days will have to remain under home quarantined along with their family members for the next 14 days.

The helpline number 108 has been set up for this purpose.
