Meghalaya Govt. issues SOP for vehicles in East Khasi Hills

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Government announced new SOP for the movement of private and public vehicles in East Khasi Hills district from September 6 onwards between 5 am to 8pm.

The guidelines issued by the government permits 100% private transport within curfew relaxation hours. Public transport plying within the district as well as inter-district vehicles holding All Meghalaya Tourist Permit are permitted 50% per day.

However, public transports are allowed to ply subject to the specific conditions.

Vehicles registered in and originating from East Khasi Hills district will report to the DTO, Shillong for submission and issuance of vaccination status and strictly adhere to the following arrangements when plying within and out of the district.

Vehicles registered in and originating from other districts will prominently display their vaccination status issued by the competent authority on the vehicle and ply as per arrangement made by the respective deputy commissioner for entering the district.

Wearing of double masks or N-95 is mandatory even for a single person driving a vehicle. In case of persons travelling in any private car, wearing of double masks or N-95 is also mandatory for all the persons. Use of sanitisers is mandatory. Proper ventilation of the vehicle is advisable.

Car should be taken at all times by drivers and passengers to ensure no breach of protocols. Smoking, eating and removal of mask is strictly prohibited.
