Meghalaya records 177 recoveries of COVID patients; tally stands at 15,606

SHILLONG: Meghalaya's tally of recovery stands at 15,606 after as many as 177 patients infected with COVID-19 recovered over the past 24 hours.

Of the total recoveries, 128 patients recovered in East Khasi Hills followed by 24 in Ri Bhoi, 11 in East Jaintia Hills, 10 in West Jaintia Hills, and four persons recovered in West Garo Hills.

The state currently has 1,884 active cases.

The state reported 246 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours taking the state's COVID tally to 17,675.

Of the total new cases, 141 were detected in East Khasi Hills, 41 in Ri Bhoi, 19 in East Jaintia Hills, 13 in West Jaintia Hills, 10 each in South West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills, two each in West Garo Hills, and South West Khasi Hills and one in North Garo Hills.

The number of fatalities from the infection has risen to 185, after six more people died due to the infection from May 1 till yesterday.
