Meghalaya records highest single-day recoveries with 66 people recovered from COVID19. The state CM Conrad Sangma announced it on Twitter.

As now there are 582 active cases in the state, with the armed forces consisting of 260 cases and others include 322. The total recovered is 330.

India COVID-19 cases so far

Coronavirus cases in India have now crossed the 18.55-lakh mark while death toll has neared the 39,000-mark. A total of 52000 positive cases and 803 deaths were ported in the last 24 hours. After Home Minister Amit Shah, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa, now Congress MP Karti Chidambaram and CPIM leader Mohammed Salim have also tested positive for coronavirus. As coronavirus cases rise, Bengal has again changed the dates of complete lockdown in August and is facing the public ire over the repeated changes. Across the world, coronavirus cases have gone past 1.8 crore and over 6.91 lakh people have died so far. A WHO team that was visiting China to investigate the origins of Covid-19, has concluded its mission and WHO is now preparing a larger team of experts to visit Wuhan. Meanwhile, US expert Dr Fauci has expressed confidence that Americans will get the coronavirus vaccine by 2021.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 13 thousand deaths. It has recorded 147324 active corona cases, 287030 cured and 15842 deaths. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has 10207 active corona cases, 124254 cured and 4021 deaths. Tamil Nadu has 56698 active cases, 4241 deaths. Gujarat with 14599 active COVID-19 cases, 47478 cured and 2508 deaths.
