Meghalaya's COVID-19 death toll touches 336, with 16 new fatalities in 24 hours

SHILLONG: Meghalaya in the past 24 hours registered 16 more deaths related to COVID-19, taking the number of total deaths in the state to 336.

Of the total new fatalities, 14 deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills while two were from Jaintia Hills.

The state on the other hand recorded 634 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the total tally of the positive cases in the state 23966.

Out of the total new cases of the infection, 443 fresh cases were reported in East Khasi Hills, followed by  Ri Bhoi (89),  West Jaintia Hills (41),  North Garo Hills (21), West Garo Hills (15),  East Jaintia Hills (12), South West Khasi Hills (7) and three each in East Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills.

A total of 237 recoveries were reported during the period.

Meghalaya currently has 4915 active cases of COVID-19.
