IMPHAL: The title for Olympic Medalist Mirabai Chanu's biopic has been registered by a Manipur-based Seuti-Films production with Film Manipur Forum.

Reportedly, the biopic will chronicle the life of the ace weightlifter from the state from her childhood days till Tokyo Olympics.

As per reports, the registration was done at the forum’s Lamphelpat office in the capital on Thursday. Its chairman S Mangoljao, writer of the film Manaobi MM and director OC Meira were also present.

A contract was earlier signed between Mirabai Chanu and the Manipur based production house on Saturday at her residence in Nongpok Kakching village in Imphal East.

Manaobi has announced that the film shall be dubbed in English as well as other Indian languages.

He also asserted that the lead actress in this ‘realistic film’ on Mirabai Chanu’s life will be a debutant.
