Miya Museum Controversy: Hindu Jagaran Manch continues protests against MLA Sherman Ali

Kokrajhar: Protesting against former MLA Sherman Ali's proposal to set up a Miya Museum in Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati, the Hindu Jagaran Manch burnt an effigy of the Congress MLA Salakati in Kokrajhar district.

The Mancha has strongly condemned Ali for his remarks on the Miya Museum in Guwahati and termed that it was totally against the interest of the integrated society in Assam.

Hundreds of activists from Kokrajhar participated in a protest rally at Salakati main road and burnt the effigy of Sherman Ali and demanded strict action against him.

The manch members put demanded the state government and concerned authorities to take strict action against Ali who they claimed had broken the integrity in the State.

Northeastern region in-charge of Hindu Jagaran Manch,Jogesh Shastri said that the manch protested against the Ali and accordingly burnt the effigy of Ali.

He added that the manch would not be allowed to establish Miyan Museum in the state "at any cost."

Speaking on the "Pakistan zindabad" row, Shastri also strongly condemned the slogans used in Barak valley by some peoples who have been trying to gain the sympathy for the foreign country.

He has urged the state government to take strict steps against the miscreants.

He said that the manch will be continuing it's protest against the Ali in days to come.
