Mizoram: 7-Year-Old "Hero" Donates Bundle of Rs 333 in Cash & Coins to Fight COVID-19

A 7-year-old boy named Rommel Lalmuansanga from Mizoram has turned the gloomy ambiance of his State into an optimistic one by contributing his entire savings of Rs. 333 for the fight against COVID-19.

The boy, hailing from Kolasib Venglai village of Mizoram, has made the donation in a bundle of cash and coins to the Village Level Task Forces.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga happily took to Twitter and tweeted, "This tiny bundle contains Rs. 333/- in cash and coins; 7-year-old Rommel Lalmuansanga from Kolasib Venglai donated his entire savings to his Village Level Task Forces in this war against the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic May the good Lord bless you abundantly You are a Hero!

This contribution is among the many donations that have been made by concerned citizens of the State with whatever they can. CM Zoramthanga has extented his gratitude to all those who have made their contribution in small, big ways to help the State fight the pandemic.

Recently, the CM had announced the bank details, wherein people could transfer money. Responding to the overwhelming response, he tweeted, "Overwhelmed at the massive help received in various forms of cash, kind, prayers, and well-wishes! On behalf of the people of Mizoram, I thank you and pray that our eternal Father continue to bless you much more in return!"

It may be mentioned here that the United Pentecostal Church has donated Rs. 2,00,000/- Mizoram Primary Teacher's Assoc Gen. Hqrs has donated Rs. 1,00,000/- and Netsurf Internet Service has contributed Rs. 1,00,000/- to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

"Nl. Zonunmawii, Chapchar Kut Miss 2020 - Rs. 10,000/- - The Salvation Army, India Eastern Territory Territorial Hqrs, Tuikual 'S', Aizawl Mizoram - Rs. 1,00,000/-. - Mizoram Finance&Accounts Service Association (MFASA) Rs. 1,00,000/-" Zoramthanga had tweeted, thanking the ones for their contribution during the pandemic.

Lok Sabha MP Lalrosanga has also contributed Rs 7 lakh to the Fund and another 7 lakh have been donated by the Presbyterian Church Society.

It may be mentioned here that after the first positive case of COVID-19, all the screening reports have come out negative. "The State Government and local NGOs are working together. Local Task Forces have been set up at every village council. The local task force has also arranged food and daily needs for the people," said a local.
