CHAWNGTE: As a part of his statewide tour to feel the pulse of the people, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati paid a maiden visit to Chawngte town, the capital town of Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) area, this forenoon.
The reception and the official programme was hosted at CADC Guest House Complex, Chawngte. The Governor was warmly welcomed with a speech from Pu Rashik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC and a series of cultural dances performed by the artiste from the Art & Culture Department, CADC. This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Andrew H. Vanlaldika MCS, Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai District on Chawngte Sub-Division profile and from Pu Deotosh Kumar Surendra Singh IPS, Superintendent of Police, Lawngtlai District on the security scenario of the area.
In his official address, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati acknowledged the fact that Autonomous District Council areas have remained relatively backwards, as compared to the other parts of the State. He assured the people in these areas that all things necessary for the upliftment of their living standards will be made a top priority by his state government. At the same time, he encouraged the masses in these areas not to feel inferior in any way from other parts of the state and that they should embrace various difficulties they are facing not as constraints; rather, they should accept them as challenges and continuously look for opportunities.
Taking opportunity of this occasion, Governor gave amplification on schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, etc., and how they could make full advantage of it. In this connection, he had reminded the officials to play their important part so that these schemes are utilized to the optimum. He had also made an appeal to the people of CADC area to try their utmost to contribute to the realization of the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, or ‘Self-Reliant India’.
