Heroin worth Rs 3.4 cr seized in Mizoram; 1 nabbed

AIZAWL: The Aizawl Battalion of the Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Excise and Narcotics department seized 762 grams of heroin from Hnahthial under Mizoram's Lunglei district.

The market value of the seized heroin is Rs 3.4 crore.

"Based on some specific information, the teams of Aizwal Battalion and the narcotics department recovered the illicit drugs and apprehended one person," informed an official.

Noteworthy is that many seizures of drugs have been reported in the Northeast Indian state in recent times.

Troops of Assam Rifles and customs department officials on February 16 seized around 68.6 grams of heroin worth Rs 27.32 lakh. Authorities had earlier busted 237.5 grams of the narcotic worth Rs 95 lakhs on February 15.
