Mizoram Lok Sabha MP demands amicable settlement of border dispute with Assam

AIZAWL: Mizoram Lok Sabha MP, C. Lalrosanga  on Wednesday stated that he will raise the issue of border-dispute in the Monsoon session of the Parliament

Speaking further Lalrosanga demanded that he should be given more time to speak in the Parliament as he is from a smaller party.

During a NDA leaders’ meeting, the MP spoke about the interstate border disputes among the states pf the Northeastern region.

Talking about the issue of dispute between Assam and Mizoram, he stated that he would like to raise an issue for amicable settlement during the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.

The issue of influx of Myanmar nationals into the state shall also be raised by the MP.

Mizoram’s MP further assured Mizo National Front (MNF) have supported the Government and will continue to support the NDA-II Government.

Commenting about the border issue, the Chief Minister had said that the Assam police personnel are working day and night to protect the constitutional boundary of the state, apparently from encroachers.

Further asked about the ongoing tensions with both Nagaland and Mizoram, Sarma had admitted that “some tension is going on” in the bordering areas, and Assam police have been tackled with.
