Myanmar army hands over 22 Northeast insurgents to India

On an important development, the Myanmar military handed over 22 northeast insurgents to the Indian government. As reported by Hindustan Times, the insurgents linked to Manipur and Assam were flown down by a private aeroplane.

In the same report by HT, a top government official stated the issue highlights the diplomatic endeavour between both India and Myanmar. Reports reveal that the jet first stopped in Manipur and later headed to Guwahati. The police have taken over the custody of the insurgents.
