'Naga Solution' Must Not Impact Manipur: CM N Biren Singh to Amit Shah

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to ensure that the final solution of the Naga Peace talks does not impact the people of the state.

A delegation of state BJP leaders, led by the Chief Minister, held a meeting with Shah wherein they discussed matters relating to the much talked about Naga peace pact.

Singh and leaders such as Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Y. Khemchand Singh, Education Minister Th. Radheshyam and Public Works and Rural Development Minister Th. Bishwajit Singh highlighted several points considering all the communities of Manipur, reports said.

The delegation also conveyed to the leaders that the final solution to the protracted Indo-Naga peace process will be welcomed by the state government and the people of Manipur. CM Singh also said that the protests have been multiplying in the state ever since the peace talks started between NSCN-IM and the centre.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed the delegation that the Naga Peace talks would not be necessarily in the favor of the Central government but it would ensure that Manipuri people would not hurt.

It may be mentioned here that the Government of India would consult all the civil society organisations of the Northeast, particularly those of Manipur and all their concerns would be taken into consideration.
