Nagaland: 93 COVID-19 cases detected, 62 from Dimapur

Out of 800 samples tested, 93 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected. 62 in Dimapur, 20 in Kohima, 8 in Peren, 2 in Mon & 1 in Zunheboto in Nagaland. Contact tracing is fully put in force & all primary contacts are kept under self-isolation to avoid further transmission.

Taking to twitter state health minister disclosed the news

Earlier, Nagaland reported 77 new COVID-19 cases on August 7th, 2020, state Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom stated. With these, the total number of COVID-19 cases has gone up to 2657; of which 1829 are active and 819 have recovered.

Of the 77 new confirmed cases, 74 from Dimapur and three from Kohima. The death toll due to the infection in the state increased to 6.

“Contact tracing is fully put in force & all primary contacts are kept under self-isolation to avoid further transmission,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie on Friday ordered the lifting of the 14-day total lockdown in Kohima municipal area under Kohima Sadar jurisdiction with effect from August 8. The total lockdown was promulgated from July 25 to August 7.

In an order, Thejawelie said the Odd-Even system for movement of vehicles will continue to remain in force till August 31.
