Nagaland announces 'Unlock' rules for next phase. Details here

KOHIMA: Nagaland's government will begin the next phase of the 'unlock' tomorrow amid an attempt to return life to normalcy with the falling curve of COVID-19 infections. Nagaland chief secretary J Alam today issued the new SOPs which will be applicable in the next phase of the unlock.

Colleges will be allowed to reopen from July 26 onwards, subject to all the teachers and staff being vaccinated with both doses. In case only one dose has been given, a staff member must wait for 15 days.

Alam further stated that schools will be allowed to reopen for class XI and XII students from August 2. Staff will have to be vaccinated.

Similarly, the opening of in-house skill development institutes/ establishments with 50% capacity will also be permitted to reopen from July 26.

Social, political,. religious, entertainment, academic, cultural gatherings, and other public gatherings are allowed up to a maximum of 50 persons when the events are held indoors, and up to a maximum of 100 persons when the events are conducted outdoors.

of restaurants for dine-in with up to 50% capacity shall be permitted, subject to all the attendants and staff of the restaurants having been fully vaccinated.

Returnees or tourists entering the State who are asymptomatic and fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be required to be tested for COVID-19 at the point of entry.

Those who have taken the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 and at least 15 (fifteen) days have passed since taking the dose will not be required to be tested for COVID-19 at the point of entry but will be required to quarantine for 7 days.

For all other cases. the persons concerned will be required to undergo testing for COVID-19 on payment as per the Government approved rates at the point of entry.
