KOHIMA: Chief minister Neiphiu Rio received the first shot of the Covishield yesterday at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).

 

He also cautioned vaccine recipients not to skip the second dose, which was administered 28 days after the first dose, in order to gain immunity against COVID-19.

protocol. It is my sincere appeal to everyone to come forward and take the vaccine without hesitation,” CM Rio tweeted.

 

 

He said it was proud for the country to have a domestically produced vaccine, adding that he had taken the first shot of the vaccine in the third phase of vaccination, which targeted people 60 years and older, as well as all those aged 45-59 years with co-morbidities or diseases.

CM Rio also hoped that even though the State’s COVID positivity rate was low the vaccination rate would be higher this time.

 

Besides CM Rio, in Dimapur, health minister, S Pangyu Phom along with the soil & water conservation V Kashiho Sangtam and Dr. Neikiesalie, and urban development and municipal affairs adviser Nicky Kire have received the first dose of Covishield at District Hospital Dimapur (DHD).

 

The trio urged everyone not to believe in the rumour about the side-effects of the vaccine that has gone viral and to come forward and get vaccinated for the benefit of everyone’s health.
