Nagaland: Dimapur Muslim Council to help perform last rites of COVID victims

DIMAPUR: In a noble gesture, the Muslim Council Dimapur formed a voluntary group 'Alvida Volunteers'  comprising members of the Muslim community to help the needy people perform last rites of their loved ones who died of COVID-19.

DIMAPUR: In a noble gesture, the Muslim Council Dimapur formed a voluntary group 'Alvida Volunteers'  comprising members of the Muslim community to help the needy people perform last rites of their loved ones who died of COVID-19.

Working president of the council Ahidur Rahman on Tuesday said this service will be extended to the people of all communities be it a Christian, Hindu or Muslim.

The initiative has been taken to ensure a respectful funeral to the person who left the world during this pandemic period, he added.

Rahman requested the Dimapur District Task Force for Covid, medical superintendent of Dimapur Civil Hospital and the directors of all the Covid care hospitals and NGOs concerned to contact him at phone number 7005203887 or Altaf Hussain at 7005506019 if they need the help of ‘Alvida volunteers’.
