Nagaland govt revokes order to shift Dimapur DC office

DIMAPUR: The Nagaland government has taken the decision to revoke its earlier order to shift the Deputy Commissoner’s office of Dimapur district.

The decision was taken followed by protests by several civil society organisations against the move.

Earlier in March, the Nagaland cabinet took the decision to move the DC’s office, Dimapur to the new complex in Chumukedima.

However, many Dimapur based civil society organizations appealed to the state government to withdraw the order.

Reportedly, the organizations launched a series of protests.

The instructions regarding shifting of branches and cells to the new deputy commissioner’s office complex “stand revoked” with immediate effect, stated an official notification issued by Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha on Monday.
