Nagaland: Higher educational institutions to reopen from Feb 24

Dimapur: The Nagaland government has ordered the reopening of the campuses and holding of regular classes in all the universities, colleges, and technical institutions functioning in the State with effect from February 24.

In a notification, Nagaland chief secretary J Alam asked the institutions to take measures for preventing and containing the spread of Covid-19 on reopening "for the safety of the students, faculty members, and all others concerned."

Alam, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 22 (2) (b) and Section 22 (2) (h) of the Disaster Management Act 2005, has issued the standard operating procedure (SOP) on the preventive measures to contain the spread of the pandemic for the reopening of these institutions.

He said, "any violation of the provisions of the SOP will attract action against the management, faculty, employee, student or visitor as the case may be."
