The Indian Army and Assam Rifles has joined in to provide all possible assistance to the NDRF teams in terms of accommodation, tentage, and logistics resources so that they execute their tasks to their full efficiency.

The Indian Army is also providing its aviation base for the launch of Bambi bucket operations, and four Mi-17 helicopters have been deployed at Dimapur and Rangapahar for the task.

The army is also coordinating ground support, air traffic control, air space management as well as other logistics support to Indian Air Force, thereby augmenting the air-effort.

Senior Army officials also had a meeting with the state administration for better synergy in the ongoing efforts.

On Saturday, 60 personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were deployed to attempt extinguishing the wildfire.

Sources also reported that the wildfire at the eastern side of Dzukou valley is under control, however, the southern side is yet to be brought under control.
