Nagaland: Landslides Destroys Houses And Roads In Mokokchung

Heavy and incessant monsoon rainfall in Mokokchung, Nagaland have led to triggering of landslides in and around the district thus affecting the lives of the people.

On the night of August 15, landslides completely took away a connecting road in Alongmen ward, thereby affecting more than 30 household of the particular ward. It also destroyed a portion of a house of a resident.

Upon hearing about the incident, Tongpang Ozukum, Minister for Housing & Mechanical visited the impacted area on August 16 morning in order to take stock of the situation.

He assured to provide assistance from the state government so that normalcy is restored at the earliest.

The minister was accompanied by Limawabang, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Vishal IPS Superintendent of Police, Temsuchuba, SDO (Civil), officials from NSDMA and a host of other officials. (Page News Service)
