Kohima, February 16, 2020:
The Lotha National Workers’ group has resolved to stand firm and uphold the spirit of the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN).
During the third LNW general meeting, the members deliberated on the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks, the conclusion of which is nearing for a settlement. “The meeting resolved to reiterate and stand by the Collective Leadership and members of the Collective Leader and Joint Council decision to stand firm and uphold the spirit of the Framework Agreement,” said LNW in a statement.
It also said, “If the Naga political settlement is outside the purview of the agreed Framework Agreement, the LNW resolved to stand tall with the Collective Leadership and members of the Collective Leader and Joint Council decision in letter and spirit come what may.”
The Lotha National Workers reiterated that an acceptable and honorable settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue should be arrived post the final discussions.
It has urged the Nagas to continue upholding both the negotiating parties in their prayers so that the twenty-three years of Indo-Naga peace talks are gracefully concluded.
