Nagaland records highest case fatality ratio along with four other states

DIMAPUR: Nagaland recorded the highest case fatality ratio (CFR) in the Northeast Region, as per COVID-19 data released by the Health Department on September 18. CFR is the deaths per hundred confirmed cases.

DIMAPUR: Nagaland recorded the highest case fatality ratio (CFR) in the Northeast Region, as per COVID-19 data released by the Health Department on September 18. CFR is the deaths per hundred confirmed cases.

The data released by the health department stated that Nagaland is among the five states with the highest CFR in the country along with Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa. The state was in green zone at 2.2 percent sample positivity rate.

In Northeast, Mizoram had the highest number of active COVID positive cases, followed by Assam, Arunachal, Tripura and Nagaland.

According to the Nagaland Health Department bulletin, the state recorded 24 fresh cases on Sunday taking the total tally to 30,864.

On the recovery of COVID19 patients in the State, 28 patients who had previously tested positive for the virus, recovered on Saturday with a recovery rate of 93.24 per cent.

The state currently has 484 active cases out of which 363 are asymptomatic, 88 are mild symptomatic, seven are moderate symptomatic on oxygen, 14 have severe symptoms and seven are on oxygen support, five are in the ICU without ventilator support and 6 are in the ICU on ventilator.

The death toll remained at 653, the bulletin said.
